Zip Unlimited

Privacy Policy

Effective November 6, 2026

Your progress and settings stay on your device, and the game sends nothing to us. From version 1.1, a hint can come with a short video ad. To supply the ads, our ad partners receive information about your device, and you choose how much of it they may use.

What the game keeps on your device

So that the game can remember you between sessions, it stores this on your device:

From version 1.1, the ad partners' software, and in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland InMobi's consent tool, also keep their own information on your device, such as your consent answers, videos fetched in advance and the partners' own identifiers.

The game sends none of this to us. Your privacy choices are passed to the ad partners, so that they can follow them. If you back up your device with iCloud or Google, your backup includes what the game keeps. Those backups belong to your account, and we can't see them.

What we collect

Nothing through the game. Zip Unlimited has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or crash reporting of its own. It doesn't connect to any server of ours, and you can play without an internet connection.

From version 1.1, the game goes online for its ads, and in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland for InMobi's consent tool, both described below. What they collect goes to those companies, not to us. They give us reports, and we use only their totals, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned, or how many people agreed in the consent form. We receive personal information only when you email us.

Ads, from version 1.1

Zip Unlimited is free, and ads help keep it that way. Tapping Hint can play a short video ad first, and the hint comes at the end of it. When no ad is available, or you're offline, the hint comes at once, and the next one is ready 10 seconds later. Ads never appear at any other time. Version 1.0.1 and earlier have no ads and don't go online.

The ads come from these partners, all part of Unity:

So that a video is ready when you tap Hint, the game asks for one in the background while you play. The partners therefore receive information about your device even if you never watch an ad. Where InMobi's consent form or Apple's request to share your age range must come first, nothing is sent to them until you've answered it. They receive:

They use it to choose and show ads, to count and measure them so that we're paid, to prevent fraud, to fix problems and to improve their services. Where you allow it, they may also use it to personalise ads based on your activity in other companies' apps and websites, and to measure ads across them. Unity may process the information in the United States, Israel and other countries.

Unity's privacy policy for game players explains what Unity collects through these services, how it uses it, and how to ask Unity to see or delete it.

InMobi's consent tool

From version 1.1, in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent to the ads with InMobi's consent tool. The game treats you as being in those places if your phone is set to one of their time zones, or, when the time zone can't be read, to one of their regions. Elsewhere, the tool never starts.

The first time you tap Hint each time you open the game, the tool checks whether it needs to ask you. It shows its form the first time, then again after 13 months, or when the ad partners or what they ask for change. No ads load until you've answered it. The form names the ad partners and what they'd like to do. Agreeing to everything also lets them ask your device for certain characteristics, such as its screen resolution, and use them to tell it apart from other devices. If you don't agree to information being stored on and read from your device, or the form can't be shown, the game shows you no ads at all, and each hint comes at once, followed by the 10-second wait. If you agree to that but not to personalised ads, the ads you see aren't personalised, and on iPhone the game doesn't ask to track you. Where the law lets the partners rely on their legitimate interests rather than your consent, the form lets you object. The tool keeps your answers on your device, where the ad partners read them.

To do this, the tool goes online, and InMobi receives your IP address, from which it works out your approximate location to know which privacy laws apply. It also receives which app it is, the type of device, your language, a random identifier for that visit, whether the form was shown, and your answers. InMobi uses them to show the form and to give us statistics, such as how many people agreed, under InMobi's privacy policy. InMobi doesn't supply ads in the game.

Your choices

None of these choices stops you playing or taking hints. The ads may just be less relevant to you.

Children and teenagers

Zip Unlimited isn't directed at children under 13.

Some places have laws about apps and young people. To follow them, from version 1.1 the game asks Apple or Google whether such a law applies to you. Where one does on iPhone, Apple may ask you to share your age range the first time you tap Hint. If Apple or Google says you're under 18, or a law needs your age and none is shared, the game shows you no ads, and nothing is sent to the ad partners. The game keeps only the decision, ads or no ads, for 30 days, and never your age.

In Brazil, ads are never personalised, whatever your age. The game doesn't ask to track you there, and tells the ad partners not to use your advertising ID.

Reporting an ad

If an ad seems wrong or unsuitable, tap Report an ad in the game's Settings. It opens an email to us with room for what you'd like to say, followed by the ad's network and creative ID, the app's version, and your phone's system and its version. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself. We pass the ad's details to the ad network so that it can look into the ad, and we use your email address only to reply.

The daily reminder

The game can remind you to play once a day. The reminder is off until you turn it on, and the game asks for permission to send notifications only at that moment. It's scheduled on your device, not sent from a server. You can turn it off in the game's settings or in your device's settings.

Sharing a board

When you choose to share a board, the game writes a message with a link to that board and, if you've solved it, your time, and hands it to the app you pick, such as Messages or WhatsApp. That app sends it, under its own privacy policy. We never receive it. When someone opens a shared link, the board loads on their device, and nothing is sent to us.

Apple and Google

The App Store, and Google Play where the game is available there, handle downloads and updates under their own privacy policies. If you've chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple or Google may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't identify you, and you can switch them off in your device settings. The age features described above are Apple's and Google's, and also work under their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it's used, to withdraw your consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. The game sends us nothing, so requests about what the ad partners received are best made to Unity, as its privacy policy explains, and about the consent tool to InMobi. If you're not sure where to start, email us and we'll help.

Removing your data

Deleting the app removes everything the game stored on your device, your consent answers included. Copies in your device backups are removed when you delete those backups, which you manage in your device's settings. Information the ad partners and InMobi have already received is kept under their own privacy policies, and Unity's explains how to ask Unity to delete it. On Android, resetting your advertising ID also stops new information being linked to the old one.

Changes to this policy

If the way the game handles information ever changes, we'll update this page before that version of the game is released, and change the date at the top.
