Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
This policy explains what information LinkedIn Games (linked-ingame.com, "we") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and how you can delete it.
The short version: you can play every puzzle without an account. If you choose to sign in, we keep your puzzle progress with your account so it follows you to other devices. We never sell your information or use it for advertising, and you can delete your account and everything saved with it at any time.
1. Who we are
LinkedIn Games is an independent puzzle website. It is not made by, endorsed by, or connected to LinkedIn; see our disclaimer. For any question about this policy or your information, email hello@linked-ingame.com.
2. Information we collect
Kept only in your browser
While you play, we save these in your browser's local storage:
- your progress in each game: your streak, best streak, best time, how many puzzles you have finished, and the dates you played (the last 90);
- which featured boards you have solved;
- your settings for each game, and whether you have already seen the day's introduction screen.
This stays on your device. Unless you sign in, we never receive it, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional. You can sign in with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email address. We then store:
- your email address;
- if you sign in with Google, the details Google shares for sign-in: your name, your profile picture, your Google account ID, and whether Google has verified your email address;
- your puzzle progress: your streaks, best times, how many puzzles you have finished, the dates you played, which featured boards you have solved, and your time and number of hints for each daily puzzle.
Technical information
- For each sign-in, our sign-in provider, Supabase, records the IP address and browser type of that session.
- When your browser contacts Supabase (when you sign in, or play while signed in), Supabase's request logs include your IP address, your browser type, and the approximate location that comes from your IP address (city, region and country).
- Like any website, our host, Hostinger, receives your IP address and browser details when your browser loads our pages. Google Fonts receives your IP address when your browser fetches the site's fonts.
We don't use analytics or advertising tools, and we don't ask your device for its location, contacts or other personal data.
3. How we use your information
We use it only to run the features you see on the site:
- to save your progress and show it to you on any device where you sign in;
- to sign you in, keep you signed in, and send you a sign-in code when you ask for one;
- to show your account in the site header: the first letter of your name (or of your email address), and your email address in the account menu;
- to keep sign-in secure, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, send you marketing email, or use it to train AI or machine-learning models. We don't show your profile picture anywhere on the site.
4. Information from Google
If you choose "Continue with Google", this is how we handle what Google shares with us:
- What we receive: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID, through Google's basic sign-in permissions. We never receive your Google password, and we can't see your Gmail, contacts, files or any other Google data.
- How we use it: only to create and recognise your account, and to show your name and email address back to you, as described in section 3.
- How we store and protect it: in our Supabase database, protected as described in section 7.
- Who we share it with: no one except Supabase, which stores it for us. We don't transfer it to anyone else.
- How long we keep it: until you delete your account, as described in section 6.
- Google's access token: we don't keep the access token Google issues during sign-in.
Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy. You can remove this site's access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account settings.
5. Who we share information with
Only with the services that run the site, and only so they can do that job:
- Supabase runs our database and sign-in, and stores account information and progress for us.
- Google handles the sign-in step when you choose Google, and delivers the site's fonts through Google Fonts.
- Hostinger hosts the website and delivers its pages.
We don't sell or rent information, and we don't share it with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else. We will only disclose information if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep information
- Account information and progress: for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your email address, your Google sign-in details and all your saved progress are deleted straight away.
- Sign-in sessions: while you stay signed in. Signing out ends your sign-in on all your devices and deletes those session records.
- Technical logs: kept by each provider for the period its own policy sets.
- Backups: our database provider may keep backups for a limited time. Deleted information disappears from them when they expire.
- Your browser: until you clear your browsing data. Deleting your account does not remove progress saved in your own browser.
7. How we protect your information
- Information travelling between your browser and the site, Supabase and Google is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Supabase encrypts the data it stores (AES-256).
- Database rules let each signed-in player read and change only their own records.
- Google sign-in uses a one-time code that only works in the browser tab that started the sign-in.
- We keep only the information this policy describes.
No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, but these steps are designed to keep your information safe from unauthorised access.
8. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account: your progress then stays on your device.
- Sign out at any time from the account menu at the top of any page.
- Delete your account from the same menu. This removes everything saved with it straight away.
- Remove our access to your Google account in your Google Account settings.
- Clear your browsing data to remove the progress saved on that device.
- Email us to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected or deleted.
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU or the UK, you may have further rights under local law. Email us to use them.
9. Cookies and browser storage
The site itself does not set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for the items listed in section 2 and, if you sign in, for your sign-in session and account details. During Google sign-in, it also keeps a one-time secret in your browser's session storage until you come back, then deletes it.
When you sign in with Google, your browser briefly visits Supabase's and Google's own pages, which may set their own cookies under their policies.
10. Children
LinkedIn Games is suitable for all ages, but accounts are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 13, please play without signing in. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
11. Where information is processed
Our providers may store and process information in countries other than yours.
12. Changes to this policy
We update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes. Before we change how we use your information, including information from Google, we will say so on the site.
